2 Corinthians 5:1-3 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. (NLT)

In case you are just now awakening from the food coma you fell into on Thursday, here is some good news. There’s a new body coming from God that never wears out, bloats, hurts, or fails to function.

Now, we have temporal bodies that wear down and out. Then, we will have eternal bodies that never grow weary. Each one is custom-made by the Maker of Heaven and Earth. There’s no better engineer or tailor. We can strive for perfection here and now with serums, nutrition plans, medication, and alterations, but we will never have it as good as we will on that day that never ends.

This goes in the category of Something Else to Thank God For.

The best is yet to be!

The mean doctor told me to stop running a few years ago. Our Father in Heaven will someday soon set me free to run without fatigue, and to my great delight.

What physical capacities are you anticipating?

My bride and daughter picked out new clothes for me yesterday. The new duds make me look more professional and stylish. Now I don’t have to do that again for a couple of years. I prefer to shop at Amazon. They prefer I not look like someone who last entered a menswear store sometime in the last decade.

As good as they make me look with what they have to work with, God has a new suit to excel anything by Joseph A. Bank.

This makes me smile as I attempt to lose five pounds this weekend before my annual physical on Monday.

I will live as well as I can in this body that is wearing down and out, and I will anticipate the body God is preparing for me that will always be full of energy and capability.

Our Father, thank you for all the adventures I’ve had in this body. Thank you for those yet to come. Thank you that the best is yet to be. Amen.

Daily D – Luke 1:76-79

Luke 1:76-79 And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;

Daily D – John 20:24-28

John 20:24-28 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Daily D – John 18:10-11

John 18:10, 11 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”

Daily D – John 13:3-5

John 13:3-5 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
