Mark 7:36, 37
Jesus told the crowd not to tell anyone, but the more he told them not to, the more they spread the news. They were completely amazed and said again and again, “Everything he does is wonderful. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak.” (NLT)

Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. People were overwhelmed with amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.” (NIV)

They were extremely astonished and said, “He has done everything well.  He even makes the deaf  hear and the mute speak.”  (CSB)

“Everything he does is wonderful.”

This reminds me of a song by Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patti ([https://bit.ly/48ICXE7](https://bit.ly/48ICXE7).

Jesus does all things well. There were no passive observers when Jesus went about his work. Everything he did was wonderful. He truly was one of a kind. No ruler, no religious leader, no community organizer brought together in one package his words of truth and life, the healing in his hands, and the unmistakable glow of his heavenly homeland.

“People were overwhelmed with amazement.”

Sometimes there are no words broad and deep, high and holy enough to describe the goodness and greatness of Jesus. Blind eyes saw with perfect perception and precision. Dumb tongues spoke eloquent praises. Lepers leaped with joy. Withered limbs grew strong. The dead were raised to life again.

“They were extremely astonished.”

Not nobody and not no how had anyone ever lived like Jesus. These weren’t magic tricks. There was no sleight of hand going on here. Jesus didn’t heal for fun and profit. He was clearly a heavenly invader setting wrongs right.

People were singing Maybe I’m Amazed long before Paul McCartney began tinkling the keys on his piano.

How amazing is Jesus to you? However much it is, it’s pretty clear that it’s not enough.

I will stand amazed at Jesus.

Our Father, you do all things well. You are more wonderful than our powers of perception. Your presence and power are overwhelming. You are wonderfully astonishing. Amen.

Daily D – Isaiah 61:1-3

Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.”

Daily D – Isaiah 60:19-22

Isaiah 60:19-22 The sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
Your sun will never set again,
and your moon will wane no more;
the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of sorrow will end.
Then all your people will be righteous
and they will possess the land forever.
They are the shoot I have planted,
the work of my hands,
for the display of my splendor.
The least of you will become a thousand,
the smallest a mighty nation.
I am the LORD;
in its time I will do this swiftly.”

Daily D – Proverbs 18:22

Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord.

Daily D – Isaiah 55:6-7

Isaiah 55:6, 7 “Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”

Daily D – Isaiah 49:15-16

Isaiah 49:15, 16 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.”
