During the first coach training I participated in years ago, we were given a Clean Sweep tool. This is a list of questions a coach can give a client to help them focus on the areas of their life where a coach could be most beneficial. 

Take a good look at your own life. Is there clutter you need to discard? This can be literal clutter, of course, but are there things taking up unnecessary space in your heart and mind that you would be better off purging?

Most of us have something that needs to go.

I spent over an hour last night trying to tidy up clutter that has prevented me from being fully productive recently. For my part, it went really well. However, the app I’m working with doesn’t seem to want to comply with the upgrade I installed. It was getting late, so I went to bed, trusting that somehow, magically, everything would work the way it was supposed to this morning. It does not. 

So, sometime today I will begin working again on this issue that clogs my productivity. It’s a little thing, but it’s an irritating thing. It’s one of those things that, when I finally fix it, my life will improve measurably. There will be one less irritant in my work life. 

What little thing is there that, when improved, will improve your life measurably?

What one thing can you do that will make a fifty percent improvement in your life or work this week?

Our Father, empower me to live a clutter-free life as far as it depends on me. Empower me to maximize productivity in ways that honor you and serve others well. Give me wisdom to fix the issue that prevents this app from working as intended. Amen.
