Hebrews 6:15
“Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.” (NLT)

Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. (The Message)

Children are, for the most part, not that great at waiting. Neither are most adults.

Waiting for minutes, hours, days, weeks, years, or decades is tough. This is especially true for children awaiting Christmas morning.

What are you awaiting?

I have a couple of long-term prayer requests I repeatedly take to God. My trust in him has not wavered. He will do what only he can do, and he will do it in his timing. Until then, I will wait.

Sometimes, I will wait confidently.

Other times, I will wait and wonder.

Still other times, I will wait and maybe kind of prod God along.

Waiting is not wasteful. I watch while I wait. I took for signs of God’s activity. I listen for evidence unseen. I pray and explain to God why His Greater Yes would be so very awesome at this moment.

And still I wait.

Abraham waited for a long, long time. God, eventually, did everything he promised, and more. Isn’t that just like God? He’s better to us than we would be to ourselves.

Some things are worth the wait. And when they come to fruition, so will begin the joy and laughter that will echo through eternity.

Today, I wait.

I wait, confident that a gift will be opened that will provide breathless surprise and endless delight.

God’s still working. I’m still waiting.

Something better than Christmas is coming.

I will wait as I pray in faith.

Our Father, you know my deepest desire. I know your desire is like mine, only greater. I look forward to celebrating together as soon as possible and always and forever. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 113:3

Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

Daily D – Psalm 112:4-5

Psalm 112:4, 5
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.

Daily D – Isaiah 6:1-7

Isaiah 6:1-7 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

Daily D – Isaiah 1:18

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the LORD.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.”

Daily D – 2 Kings 25:27-30

2 Kings 25:27-30 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the year Awel-Marduk became king of Babylon, he released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. He did this on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month. He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon. So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes and for the rest of his life ate regularly at the king’s table. Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.
