Psalm 101:2
”I will pay attention to the way of integrity.
When will you come to me?
I will live with a heart of integrity in my house.“ (CSB)

I’m finding my way down the road of right living,
but how long before you show up?
I’m doing the very best I can,
and I’m doing it at home, where it counts. (MSG)

I misunderstood the man at the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. A person in our group who is uncomfortable with heights, especially when they are leaning, wanted to walk the winding stairway back down to the level ground.

When I asked the man if we could go down, I thought he said, “There are two ways.” One way was back down the stairs. The other, I supposed, was over the side. This was quite a long and most likely terminal route. When I asked for clarification, the Keeper of the Chain who kept us from going down the stairs said in slightly more understandable English, “You have to wait.”

Ah. Very well then. My trembling relative and I would hold on for dear life and wait at the head of the line to go down the stairs and not over the edge.

King David declared, “I will pay attention to the way of integrity.” He also said, “I will live with a heart of integrity in my house.” Of the two ways before him, he chose the pathway of integrity. He chose the path of doing the right thing the right way for the right reason in the right timing.

I love The Message paraphrase where it says, “I’m doing the very best I can,
and I’m doing it at home, where it counts.”

Start where you are. Do the right thing. Repeat. This is the way of integrity. A lifestyle of integrity unties a lot of knots. It smooths some rough places. It makes good outcomes more likely.

How well do you want this day to go? Walk the pathway of integrity.

I will walk the pathway of integrity.

Our Father, lead me along the pathway of integrity. Lead me from the time I arise and leave for the day’s activities until I return home and find rest. Empower me to live with integrity in all things at all times. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 113:3

Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

Daily D – Psalm 112:4-5

Psalm 112:4, 5
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.

Daily D – Isaiah 6:1-7

Isaiah 6:1-7 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

Daily D – Isaiah 1:18

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the LORD.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.”

Daily D – 2 Kings 25:27-30

2 Kings 25:27-30 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the year Awel-Marduk became king of Babylon, he released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. He did this on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month. He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon. So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes and for the rest of his life ate regularly at the king’s table. Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.
