Isaiah 6:1-7
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” (NIV)

Isaiah the prophet was a good man. He was called by God, equipped by God, and used by God to deliver his words of truth in life. But Isaiah knew he was not worthy to stand in the very presence of Almighty God. There was impurity about him that created distance between him and God. God’s perfect holiness was so pure that it would destroy anything impure brought into its presence.

And God did for Isaiah what Jesus does for us: He takes away our impurity. He cleanses us from all unrighteousness. He makes a way for us to come into his presence.

When Jesus teaches us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13, he begins with the words “Our Father.” We can come into Our Father’s presence because of what Jesus has done for us, to remove our impurity, to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We can come into Our Father’s presence, even though Jesus alone has the right to call God Father.

Our Father in Heaven loves us and wants us to live in a deep and abiding relationship with him now and forever. He does for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

Today is a good day to see God for who He is, to see ourselves as we are and as we can be by His grace. Today is a good day to learn to live in conscious awareness of God’s presence, his grace, his mercy, and his kindness.

I will see God for who he is, and see myself for what I can be by His amazing grace.

Our Father, bless me with a pure heart and clean hands. Make me holy as you are holy. Draw me ever Ddeeper into an abiding relationship with you. Amen.

Psalm 112:4, 5
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.

Daily D – Isaiah 1:18

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the LORD.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.”

Daily D – 2 Kings 25:27-30

2 Kings 25:27-30 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the year Awel-Marduk became king of Babylon, he released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. He did this on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month. He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon. So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes and for the rest of his life ate regularly at the king’s table. Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.

Daily D – 2 Kings 20:19

2 Kings 20:19 “The word of the Lord you have spoken is good,” Hezekiah replied. For he thought, “Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?”

Daily D – Psalm 106:12

Psalm 106:12
But they soon forgot what he had done
and did not wait for his plan to unfold.
