Psalm 12:7, 8
You, Lord, will guard us;
you will protect us from this generation forever.
The wicked prowl all around,
and what is worthless is exalted by the human race. (CSB)

You, Lord, will keep the needy safe
and will protect us forever from the wicked,
who freely strut about
when what is vile is honored by the human race. (NIV)

God is near when lies are common and what is vile is honored. He guards us and protects us. This is good news.

The darker the days, the brighter God’s light shines. The more confused humanity’s thought processes become, the wiser God’s truth appears.

God’s good news touches every realm, every area of life and living. It shows the better way. It leads along the way. It provides whatever is necessary on the way. It is the Better Way.

King David’s double bottom line is ours as well. There are many people who are rotten to the core. They are blackhearted sinners. God is good, and everything he offers and makes possible is good, good, good.

Really, really good is the reality that many blackhearted sinners see themselves for who they are and what they are in the light of God’s glory and grace. They experience his cleansing. They follow his redirection of their steps. They lay aside their vile and worthless ways.

God guards the good and pursues the wicked. He wants everyone to experience his grace, mercy, kindness, and compassion.

How do we rid the world of what is vile and wicked? By extending God’s goodness and grace here and there and in every place.

What an opportunity for a Saturday! Carry God’s light and love wherever you go. Let the goodness and grace of God show.

I will live in the beauty of God’s goodness and grace.

Our Father, we live in a darkening world. Use us as light-bearers against the night. May the whole world see how good life can be. May those captive to lies and all that is vile be drawn to your gracious ways and liberating truth. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 113:3

Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

Daily D – Psalm 112:4-5

Psalm 112:4, 5
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.

Daily D – Isaiah 6:1-7

Isaiah 6:1-7 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

Daily D – Isaiah 1:18

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the LORD.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.”

Daily D – 2 Kings 25:27-30

2 Kings 25:27-30 In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the year Awel-Marduk became king of Babylon, he released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. He did this on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month. He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon. So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes and for the rest of his life ate regularly at the king’s table. Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.
