Matthew 1:23  See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel,  which is translated “God is with us.”  (CSB)

When God enters your world, everything changes. It awakens us to the reality that it was his world before it became our world. We belong to him before he belongs to us. All of the initiative lies on his side of the relationship.

He is Creator. He is Savior. He is the Eternal One. And, he is with us.

He makes his home with us.

This was always his idea. Genesis tells this story.

This is his idea today for our tomorrow and forever. Revelation tells this story.

Christmas is about home. Although Joseph and Mary traveled far from their home, they arrived in their ancestral land among their relatives. Jesus was home for Christmas.

And he has been every moment since.

God is with us. One day we will be with him up close and personal as Jesus was that night so long ago. The curtain will be pulled back for us to see the greater reality our hearts have longed for, and all have longed for, across ages of hunger and hope.

May you know the True Gift of Christmas today. Jesus makes his home in the hearts of all who welcome him.

Merry Christmas!

I will celebrate Jesus making himself at home in my heart.

Our Father, thank you for Christmas. Thank you for preparing for us a place called Home. Amen.
