Matthew 1:23  See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel,  which is translated “God is with us.”  (CSB)

When God enters your world, everything changes. It awakens us to the reality that it was his world before it became our world. We belong to him before he belongs to us. All of the initiative lies on his side of the relationship.

He is Creator. He is Savior. He is the Eternal One. And, he is with us.

He makes his home with us.

This was always his idea. Genesis tells this story.

This is his idea today for our tomorrow and forever. Revelation tells this story.

Christmas is about home. Although Joseph and Mary traveled far from their home, they arrived in their ancestral land among their relatives. Jesus was home for Christmas.

And he has been every moment since.

God is with us. One day we will be with him up close and personal as Jesus was that night so long ago. The curtain will be pulled back for us to see the greater reality our hearts have longed for, and all have longed for, across ages of hunger and hope.

May you know the True Gift of Christmas today. Jesus makes his home in the hearts of all who welcome him.

Merry Christmas!

I will celebrate Jesus making himself at home in my heart.

Our Father, thank you for Christmas. Thank you for preparing for us a place called Home. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 59:9-10

Psalm 59:9, 10
You are my strength, I watch for you;
you, God are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely.
God will go before me
and will let me gloat over those who slander me.

Daily D – Psalm 56:3

Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Daily D – Daniel 4:26-27

Daniel 4:26, 27 “The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. Therefore, Your Majesty, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.”

Daily D – Daniel 2:20-23

Daniel 2:20-23
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

Daily D – Esther 6:6

Esther 6:6 When Haman entered, the king asked him, “What should be done for the man the king delights to honor?” Now Haman thought to himself, “Who is there that the king would rather honor than me?”
