Isaiah 55:6-9  Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

No positive, productive change happens without a shift in thinking. No positive, productive change happens without a shift in activity. Positive, productive change occurs when we learn to think like God thinks, and when we join God in his work.

How can we tell when the appropriate shifts are taking place? Take a look at Isaiah 55:10-13. Notice rain and snow water the earth. This causes grain to grow, which provides seeds to farmers and bread for the hungry. God’s words of truth and life produce fruit in the same way. It creates abundance. It brings joy and peace.

Our perspective shifts from looking for what is hurtful and harmful to what is good and worthy of praise. Instead of those things making life more challenging and difficult, there is more beauty, power, and love.

God’s invitation into the way of life and love is the great exchange.

Today is a good day to learn a new way of thinking. It is a good day to learn a new way of living. Better decisions and better actions lead to better outcomes for everyone.

Verse 6 says, “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Once again, we get the idea God is more ready to be found than we are to look for him. He is more interested in hearing and answering our prayers than we are in praying them. We always win when we play Hide ’n Seek with God. He hides in plain sight.

I will seek God who is hiding in plain sight.

Our Father, thank you for changing our lives as we learn to think your thoughts with you as we read and ponder your words of truth and life. Thank you for hearing and answering our prayers. Thank you for enriching our lives with your ever-present goodness. Amen.

Daily D – Isaiah 6:1-7

Isaiah 6:1-7 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
