Psalm 18:20-24
GOD made my life complete
when I placed all the pieces before him.
When I got my act together,
he gave me a fresh start.
Now I’m alert to GOD’s ways;
I don’t take God for granted.
Every day I review the ways he works;
I try not to miss a trick.
I feel put back together,
and I’m watching my step.
God rewrote the text of my life
when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes. (MSG)

Some people are genuinely terrified of thinking God might look a little too deeply at their lives. King David tells God here that he is an open book. He invited God to read any page, every page if he preferred. He had learned the life lesson of offering our broken places before God. God, and God alone, can put the pieces back together perfectly.

Look at how David describes this:

GOD made my life complete.

He gave me a fresh start.

I feel put back together.

GOD rewrote the text of my life
when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.

This creates a good prayer to pray:

Our Father, I place before you the broken pieces of my life. I require a fresh start. I cannot get my life together on my own. Awaken my understanding of your will and ways. Forgive me for taking you for granted. I will, from now on, turn to you first, last, and always. Each evening, I will review how you worked in my life that day. You reintegrate my heart, mind, and strength. You are writing a better ending to the book of my life. Amen.

I will open the book of my life to God as an invitation for his examination and editing.

Amen.

Acts 24:16 “Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.”

Daily D – Acts 21:1

Acts 21:1 After saying farewell to the Ephesian elders, we sailed straight to the island of Cos. The next day we reached Rhodes and then went to Patara.

Daily D – Acts 18:26

Acts 18:26 When Priscilla and Aquila heard him preaching boldly in the synagogue, they took him aside and explained the way of God even more accurately.

Daily D – Acts 17:11-12

Acts 17:11, 12 And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. As a result, many Jews believed, as did many of the prominent Greek women and men.
