Psalm 103:1-5
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! (NLT)

Sometimes familiar words strike our ears with new sounds and new meaning. This was the case this morning. The first line of this psalm is repeated in the last. The beginning and ending match. They bookend so much golden manna. Taste it and see.

Read lovingly through the stanzas. Linger over the declarations of God’s nature and character. Hear and feel the fresh breeze blowing beauty through the heights and depths of your life. See the beauty illumined by God’s gift of light. Inhale his breath so that you may join the psalmist in a song for the ages and beyond.

Let all that I am praise the LORD.

Let my eyes see with new perception.

Let my ears hear with new understanding.

Let my heart beat in rhythm with God’s own.

Let my hands serve with gentleness.

Let my feet wander according to his direction.

Let my stomach crave his good gifts of nourishment and refreshment.

Let all that I am praise the LORD.

I will bring to conscious awareness God’s nature and character and celebrate him with every area of my life.

Our Father, you made me “wonderfully complex,” as Psalm 139:14 says. Another translation says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” I want every aspect of my life to sing your praise, to declare your wonder, to stand amazed in your presence. Here I lay my life before you as a living sacrifice. Every breath, each heartbeat, all of my steps, each touch becomes a hallelujah as I consider how good and kind you are. I will live for the praise of your glory now and forever. Amen.

Daily D – 2 Thessalonians 1:3

2 Thessalonians 1:3 “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

Daily D – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

1 Thessalonians 1:2, 3 “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Daily D – Colossians 2:8-10

Colossians 2:8-10 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Daily D – Philippians 2:2-5

Philippians 2:2-5 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Daily D – Ephesians 4:1-6

Ephesians 4:1-6 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.
