Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life. (NLT)

Unguarded hearts lead to disregard for self and others.

Unguarded hearts invite pests and varmints.

Unguarded hearts hear hurtful and harmful stories.

Unguarded hearts see and gaze upon stirring sights leading to unwholesome responses.

Unguarded hearts taste and see sweetness before it turns bitter.

Unguarded hearts choose with feelings that become ever more treacherous.

Unguarded hearts are careless.

The path of personal destruction begins with an unguarded heart.

The path of esteem begins with a well-guarded heart.

The path of success begins with a well-guarded heart.

The path of joy begins with a well-guarded heart.

The path of beauty begins with a well-guarded heart.

The path of safety begins with a well-guarded heart.

The path of delight begins with a well-guarded heart.

Well-guarded hearts are careful and wise.

As an old song says, “it’s not too late to change the path you’re on.”

However, the time to decide is today.
What does God say?
Guard your heart today.
These are words to hear and obey.

I will guard my heart so that I stay on the right course.

Our Father, protect me from unnecessary heartache and heartbreak. Teach me how to protect my heart so that there is always increasing capacity for goodness and love. Teach me how to protect my heart so that nothing can hinder my capacity for kindness and joy. Amen.
