Job 17:10-12
“As for all of you, come back with a better argument,
though I still won’t find a wise man among you.
My days are over.
My hopes have disappeared.
My heart’s desires are broken.
These men say that night is day;
they claim that the darkness is light.” (NLT)

When up feels down
When you know you will lose before you play
When hope left town and took faith with it
When your friends become adversaries

God is still God.

He is in charge.

He redeems all he allows.

For every person contemplating a hopeless end,
God is leading him or her toward himself
Where endless hope resides.

Clouds and emotions
may obscure God’s presence.
They do not, however,
Hinder his concern
Weaken his strength
Use up his grace
Drain his mercy or
Limit his love.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart.

Don’t try to figure out everything on your own.

Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go.

He’s the one who will keep you on track.
(Proverbs 3:5, 6 The Message)

I will trust God beyond my feelings and friends.

Our Father, thank you for the gifts of feelings and emotions. Thank you for faithful friends. Thank you especially for your strength, grace, mercy, and love. Thank you for deploying these attributes in my life so often and so normally that they become mundane. Empower me to see today how you are at work in my life, molding and shaping me, filling and using me. Amen.

Daily D – 1 Kings 2:1-4

1 Kings 2:1-4 When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son.
“I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’”
