Jeremiah 1:5-8
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart
and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

“O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”

The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (NLT)

Jeremiah 1:19
“They will fight you, but they will fail.
For I am with you, and I will take care of you.
I, the Lord, have spoken!” (NLT)

God’s guidance always includes God’s presence. We can say with bold assurance, “The LORD is my Shepherd. I have all that I need,” (Psalm 23:1).

God’s guidance includes all that we need today. “Give us today our daily bread,” (Matthew 6:11).

God’s guidance includes all that we need forever. “Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ And he said to him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.’” (Luke 23:42, 43)

Before I knew I had a need, God had already provided it.

Whenever I discover there is something I lack that honors God and benefits others, God provides it.

Wherever this life leads me, and however my end may come, my destiny is superior to any I have ever known. The worst thing that will ever happen to me will lead me immediately to the best thing that will ever happen to me.

My need: “I do not have what I need to face what is before me.”

God’s promise: “I will be with you.”

I will live in the confidence of God’s presence and provision.

Our Father, you are my Shepherd. You are all I need. Amen.

Daily D – 1 Kings 2:1-4

1 Kings 2:1-4 When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son.
“I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’”
