Deuteronomy 30:19, 20  “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” (NIV)

Choose life. Never mistake for a moment which side of this debate God is on. He clearly says again and again in so many ways, Choose Life.

God says here, “choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life . . .”

Hold Fast to God, the giver of the breath of life, the one who receives our last breath at the end of our days.

Hold Fast to God, who has a plan and purpose for every living being, including every man, woman, child, and baby in the womb.

Hold Fast to God, whose intentions toward us are honorable, noble, beautiful, and good.

Hold fast to God, who wants to bless us with blessings undeserved and blessings so abundant that they overflow into the lives of others.

I will choose the path of life.

Our Father, I choose life. I choose to listen to you and do what you say. I choose to hold fast to you, the Giver of life. Amen.

1 Kings 2:1-4 When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son.
“I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’”
