Joshua 21:45  Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true. (NLT)

Joshua 24:32  The bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought along with them when they left Egypt, were buried at Shechem, in the plot of land Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor for 100 pieces of silver. This land was located in the territory allotted to the descendants of Joseph. (NLT)

Promises made; promises kept. God’s promises to a nation made from a mob came true. A promise made to a brother was kept hundreds of years after all the brothers died.

We belong to a promise-making, promise-keeping Father in Heaven. What he says, he will do. He will never lead us falsely. He will always be with us. We are his dearly-loved children.

I will trust God’s every promise.

Our Father, what you say you will do is as good as done. Thank you for how we can trust you with our days, weeks, months, and years. Thank you that we can trust you for centuries and millennia. Thank you that all eternity is in your loving hands and complete control. Thank you, most of all, for the truth and goodness that we belong to you. Amen.

Matthew 5:48 “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Daily D – Matthew 3:16-17

Matthew 3:16, 17 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Daily D – Matthew 2:16-18

Matthew 2:16-18 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”

Daily D – 2 Chronicles 35:25

2 Chronicles 35:25 Jeremiah composed laments for Josiah, and to this day all the male and female singers commemorate Josiah in the laments. These became a tradition in Israel and are written in the Laments.

Daily D – 2 Chronicles 34:33

2 Chronicles 34:33 Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the LORD their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the LORD, the God of their ancestors. (NIV)
