Hebrews 13:18
Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honorably in everything. (CSB)

Pray for us, for our conscience is clear and we want to live honorably in everything we do. (NLT)

Pray for us. We have no doubts about what we’re doing or why, but it’s hard going and we need your prayers. All we care about is living well before God.
(The Message)

Right living relieves us of so many unnecessary conflicts. It is much easier to fall asleep and rest well when our souls are free from turmoil. Honorable living is like that, isn’t it?

The author of this New Testament book embraced the good life of uncomplicated adherence to God’s truth and God’s will. This shaped the conduct of all his ways and all his words.

Psalm 30 talks about God’s favor. God’s blessing abounds in those who live lives he can bless. The author of Hebrews and King David agree that God’s best gifts are poured out on those who aim to live honorably in everything.

Lives aligned with the will of God and hearts attuned to God’s grace, mercy, and compassion overflow with abundance. These people understand that God’s favor is not about abundant gifts of wealth for the sake of creature comforts. God’s favor and blessing are gifts for us to share freely without fear of exhausting the source.

We get to live like Abraham, blessed to be a blessing.

The pattern of this verse is instructive. Invite trusted and mature believers to pray that you would live with a clear conscience. Ask them to pray for God to empower you to live honorably in all things. This is the best kind of accountability. We seek to honor God and serve others while inviting others to help us maintain this lifestyle before God.

We live free from doubt and without worry when all we care about is living well before God.

Live a life God can bless. As you freely receive God’s good gifts, freely share them with those who need to experience God’s goodness.

I will live well before God.

Our Father, empower me to live well before you. Surround me with others who live well before you. As your favor enriches our souls, make us soul-strengthening servants freely distributing your grace, mercy, and compassion. Make us ever-more kind and gentle. Bless us so that we may bless others. Amen.

Daily D – John 6:47-51

John 6:47-51 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. Yes, I am the bread of life! Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.”

Daily D – Matthew 21:43-44

Matthew 21:43, 44 “I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce the proper fruit. Anyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone it falls on.”

Daily D – Matthew 21:12-15

Matthew 21:12-15 Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”

The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.”

But the leaders were indignant.

Daily D – Matthew 23:37

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.”

Daily D – 1 Kings 22:4-5

1 Kings 22:4, 5 Then he turned to Jehoshaphat and asked, “Will you join me in battle to recover Ramoth-gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, “Why, of course! You and I are as one. My troops are your troops, and my horses are your horses.” Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what the Lord says.”
