Deuteronomy 29:29
The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law. (CSB)

“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.“ (NLT)

A good friend asked whatever happened to the ark of the covenant. I asked if he had seen Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was taken up to heaven, if you remember what happened at the end of the movie. Of course, this is only a Steven Spielberg interpretation. Or is it? Where is the last place we see the ark of the covenant in the Bible?

Revelation 11:19 says, “Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant appeared in his temple.”

I’m pretty sure this means we don’t have to go looking for it anymore.

It’s interesting, isn’t it, how people are far more inquisitive regarding things we cannot know than the things we can. God has revealed so much truth, so much of himself to us, that we could spend the rest of our lives pondering and putting into practice what he has clearly made known.

Today’s a good day to listen deeply to God and obey him completely. What this makes possible is far superior in real life to pondering the imponderables with podcasters and YouTubers.

Knowing and experiencing God is way better than reading someone’s speculations about spiritual things. The adventure of a lifetime, and beyond, begins when we take God at his word.

I will hear and obey God and live the life of his dreams for me.

Our Father, give me ears to hear what you are saying to me in the moments of my lifetime. Help me develop the daily habit of listening to you speak through the Bible. Empower me to do what you say. Take me on the thrill ride of your choosing as I get to know your heart and mind, your will and ways. Amen.

Daily D – John 6:47-51

John 6:47-51 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. Yes, I am the bread of life! Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.”

Daily D – Matthew 21:43-44

Matthew 21:43, 44 “I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce the proper fruit. Anyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone it falls on.”

Daily D – Matthew 21:12-15

Matthew 21:12-15 Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”

The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.”

But the leaders were indignant.

Daily D – Matthew 23:37

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.”

Daily D – 1 Kings 22:4-5

1 Kings 22:4, 5 Then he turned to Jehoshaphat and asked, “Will you join me in battle to recover Ramoth-gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, “Why, of course! You and I are as one. My troops are your troops, and my horses are your horses.” Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what the Lord says.”
