2 Corinthians 2:17
For we do not market the word of God for profit like so many. On the contrary, we speak with sincerity in Christ, as from God and before God. (CSB)

No—but at least we don’t take God’s Word, water it down, and then take it to the streets to sell it cheap. We stand in Christ’s presence when we speak; God looks us in the face. We get what we say straight from God and say it as honestly as we can. (The Message)

Marketing in ministry is a helpful servant but a poor master.

It’s much easier to build crowds than to grow saints.

Creative messaging sells. Simple truth plainly stated and patiently applied transforms.

Ultimate accountability comes when Jesus inspects our messaging. Will he find more marketing or more Gospel?

God’s honest truth today and always leads away from what is clever and profitable to what is good and endures forever.

I will communicate simple truth plainly and patiently.

Our Father, deliver me from market-driven communication. Empower me to state simple truth plainly while trusting you to do with it more than I could do with a million dollars worth of marketing. Amen.
