Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave. PROVERBS 12:24 (NLT)

_____________________________________________________________________________

The diligent find freedom in their work; the lazy are oppressed by work.
(The Message)

The most fun I ever had working was when I was a radio disc jockey. That job provided a combination of discipline and creativity. I loved it. I learned to thrive within its constraints.

Another job was ideal for me at the time. It required daily travel by car to visit with church leaders among nine hundred congregations in one region. Driving between two thousand and three thousand miles per month made it possible to listen to lots of books on tape. Podcasting was not yet a big deal.

The pandemic shifted everyone’s daily schedules. Early on, it became apparent that I was accomplishing more working from home on many days than when traveling to and from the office. Notes have been taken regarding how to work more intelligently when our office reopens.

Noble work liberates. Noble work stimulates growth and development. Noble work maximizes talent and creativity. Noble work serves families and communities.

What are the work lessons you have learned during this season? How will you move forward more intelligently?

_____________________________________________________________________________

I will work hard so that I can lead myself and others well.

Our Father, thank you for the gift of noble work. Empower us to work in a manner which honors you and serves others. Amen.

Ezekiel 18:30-32 “Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!”

Daily D – Ezekiel 11:19-20

Ezekiel 11:19, 20 “And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.”
