Psalm 37:5, 6
“Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.”
(NIV)

“Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.”
(NLT)

“Open up before GOD, keep nothing back;
he’ll do whatever needs to be done:
He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day
and stamp you with approval at high noon.”
(MSG)

The Marines are looking for a few good men, as the old advertisement says. God is looking for people who know him, love him, trust him, and follow his directions to the good life.

This psalm is best known for the verse before those above:

“Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we love what God loves, when we want for ourselves what God wants for us, God says Yes! Because this is God’s disposition toward all who seek to know and love him, he extends his grace beyond what we could reasonably expect. King David adds verses 5 and 6 to expand our horizons of understanding:

“Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.”

God will make your good example shine before others. When you are slandered or mistreated, he himself will vindicate you and declare your righteousness.

The Good Life, life shaped by God’s instructions and promises, and lived with integrity and character by us, is exemplary. It is worth displaying. These kinds of lives help others know how to live. They are the proof of God’s purpose.

God wants you to live in such a manner that he can use your humility and generosity as evidence of his amazing grace.

Take a moment and commit your way to God today. Let him know you will trust him in all things and for all things. Allow him to blow his refreshing breeze through your life to renew others. This could be your best day in a long time, maybe even your best day yet.

I will commit my way to God.

Our Father, here I am. Take my life and lead me. Fill my mind with your thoughts, my heart with your compassion, my hands with readiness to serve, and my feet with eagerness to go wherever you send. I belong to you. Amen.

Daily D – Leviticus 18:1-5

Leviticus 18:1-5 The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God. You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.”

Daily D – Psalm 34:3

Psalm 34:3
“Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.”

Daily D – Leviticus 11:44-45

Leviticus 11:44, 45 “I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground. I am the LORD, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.”

Daily D – Leviticus 10:1-2

Leviticus 10:1, 2 Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.

Daily D – Psalm 30:4-5

Psalm 30:4, 5 “Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people;
praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
