Daily D – John 5:24
John 5:24
“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” (New Living Translation)
“It’s urgent that you listen carefully to this: Anyone here who believes what I am saying right now and aligns himself with the Father, who has in fact put me in charge, has at this very moment the real, lasting life and is no longer condemned to be an outsider. This person has taken a giant step from the world of the dead to the world of the living.” (MSG)

Sometimes people make salvation harder than it has to be. They add hoops to jump through and rules to follow. Jesus, the final authority on such things, says plainly and simply, “those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life.”
Are you listening, really listening?
Do you believe, really believe?
Trust Jesus. Receive his words of truth and life. Don’t make salvation harder than that.
Saving grace is available to everyone. You don’t have to clean up yourself. Jesus will take care of that. He will reshape your life in the most delightful manner. He’s good at banging out dents and fixing up broken things.
If you’ve been uncertain how to start with Jesus, here you go. Listen to him, trust him, and believe what he says. Trust him to do for you what you cannot do for yourself. His gift of salvation is simple to receive and as sure as the sun has risen on every day since creation.
This is where the adventures truly begin. It’s the starting place for life in all its fullness.
Do you believe Jesus? Do you trust him?
—
I will trust Jesus alone for my salvation.
—
Our Father, thank you for making it possible for us to enter into a deep and abiding relationship with you through the work of Jesus on our behalf. I trust you now and forever. I believe your words of truth and life. I joyfully receive your gift of eternal life. Amen.
