Psalm 25:12
The Lord shows his faithful followers
the way they should live. (NET)

My question: What are God-worshipers like?
Your answer: Arrows aimed at God’s bull’s-eye. (MSG)

This verse, as paraphrased in The Message, leaps off the page every time I read it. This imagery always captures my attention. It might have something to do with my last name, the name of the leadership coaching website I am building, or my website address: readyaimfly.com. (Coming soon.)

Archer Executive Coaching will incorporate arrows, bull’s-eyes, and other terms related to archery. The various coaching processes will parallel the levels of advancement from archer to bowman and so on.

This verse really hits the target when we ponder what a well-ordered and well-lived life looks like. Worshiping God is not a Sunday-only experience. Worship is most fittingly exemplified by how we manage our lives where we live, work, and play day by day.

Worship, in its expanded sense, refers to honoring and experiencing God in every moment, activity, conversation, and relationship.

Work that honors God and serves others is worship.

Conversation that edifies is worship.

Cooperation in the service of justice, mercy, and compassion is worship.

Friendships that make us feel like we have extra lives is worship.

This kind of living hits God’s bull’s-eye.

Psalm 18:32 in The Message asks,

“Is this not the God who armed me,
then aimed me in the right direction?”

This rhetorical question elicits an Amen upon every repetition and reflection. Read the rest of Psalm 18 from the beginning to see the character and nature of God as celebrated by all God’s people across the ages.

We always hit the bull’s-eye when God arms us and aims us.

O, to be an arrow in his quiver!

O, to hit the mark every time!

O, to be the answer to someone’s prayer!

What’s the point of your life?

Where is God aiming you today?

How will his bull’s-eye with your life make things better for someone today?

I am in God’s hands ready, aimed, and prepared to fly toward his target.

Our Father, arm me. Aim me. Accomplish your purposes with my life. Amen.

trust in him and he will do this:

your vindication like the noonday sun.”

Daily D – Leviticus 18:1-5

Leviticus 18:1-5 The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God. You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.”

Daily D – Psalm 34:3

Psalm 34:3

let us exalt his name together.”

Daily D – Leviticus 11:44-45

Leviticus 11:44, 45 “I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground. I am the LORD, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.”

Daily D – Leviticus 10:1-2

Leviticus 10:1, 2 Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.
