Luke 19:11  The crowd was listening to everything Jesus said. And because he was nearing Jerusalem, he told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away. (NLT)

Kind correction is a gift.

Jesus kindly prevented his followers from believing what was not true. He redirected their thoughts. He rechanneled their energy. He refocused their attention. Something bigger, better, and broader than their expectations was in play.

How often have you prayed, “O LORD, please correct me here and now and as often as necessary?” You might want to add it to your prayer repertoire.

Ignorance regarding God’s intentions for this world and his purpose for our lives leads to distracted thinking and unfocused activity.

Psalms is full of questions like, “How long, O LORD?” It is also full of requests like, “Show me the way I should go.” When we don’t know, let’s not guess. Let’s go to God who knows all things. Let’s ask him to place his thoughts in our minds, his words in our mouths, his strength in our bones.

Here and now, our Father in Heaven sees the end of this day as clearly as we see this moment. Let us entrust ourselves to him who knows the ending before the beginning. Let us join him in his purpose for these hours. Let us join him in what he chooses to do during all the days separating us from his immediate and unending presence.

I will welcome God’s kind correction and purposeful redirection.

Our Father, please correct me here and now and as often as necessary. Show me the way I should go. Empower me with your thoughts, your words, and your strength. Amen.

Psalm 125:4, 5

whose hearts are in tune with you.
But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O LORD.
Take them away with those who do evil.

Daily D – Psalm 106:1-3

Psalm 106:1-3
Praise the LORD!
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Who can list the glorious miracles of the LORD?
Who can ever praise him enough?
There is joy for those who deal justly with others
and always do what is right.

Daily D – Psalm 103:1-5

Psalm 103:1-5
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
