Psalm 80:3  Turn us again to yourself, O God. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved. (NLT)

Some prayers are worth re-praying. Some words bear repeating. Some ideas take time to fully penetrate our hearts and minds.

Psalm 80 is a radiant psalm. Seasons of success and lives of peace and meaning have a common source. They begin and end with God alone.

Notice the words above from verse 3 repeat in verses 7 and 19.

Notice also the repetition of God’s radiant glory in verses 1, 3, 7, and 19.

The more we focus on God’s glory, the more fruitful, effective, loving, and generous our lives become.

Rescue and redemption are among God’s glorious works.

Renewal and restoration are evidence of his grace and mercy.

Revival comes from God’s glow and overflow in our lives.

This is a prayer worth praying and praying repeatedly.

This is a prayer worth pondering, and employing regularly.

I will pray with focused attention on God’s glory and his salvation.

Our Father, words often fail us when we attempt to express the deepest truths and are accompanied by our fondest hopes. Sometimes the best thing we can do is repeat what we know to be true. You are glorious! You are radiant! You illuminate all good things! Make your face shine on us today. Deliver us from encroaching darkness. Cascade your brilliance through our revived and renewed lives. Amen.
