Isaiah 26:3, 4
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
because in the LORD, the LORD himself, is an everlasting rock! (CSB)

You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Trust in the LORD always,
for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock. (NLT)

Ancient mariners knew the value of fixed points in the sky. Those anchors above gave them confidence to release their ropes at the shore and to navigate their journeys toward lands they knew lay beyond the rising and falling seas.

Sovereign over all, our Father in Heaven guides those who trustingly look to him. He is our hope when we shove away from shore. He is our strength as we walk the path. He is our companion all along the way. He is our peace.

God is dependable. He is trustworthy and true. He rules now and forever. He is our rock and our refuge.

We are never out of his care, never beyond his reach.

Psalm 49:5 asks a rhetorical question: “Why should I fear in times of trouble?”

Isaiah 41:10 tells us, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Second Timothy 1:7 declares, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

First John 4:18 instructs us that “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

Psalm 34:4 sings, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”

Proverbs 29:25 reminds us that “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.”

Joshua 1:9 encourages us with these words: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

If you are looking for something to perfect in your life, let it be God’s peace, the byproduct of his presence, the promise of his provision, the ultimate destination no matter what happens along the way.

I will lean into perfect peace by trusting God and fixing my thoughts on him and his purpose for me.

Our Father, I am yours. You hold me securely. You lead me surely. Perfect peace is the nature of your presence. Calm my fear. Soothe my anxiety. Direct my steps. Amen.

Daily D – 1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”

Daily D – 2 Thessalonians 1:3

2 Thessalonians 1:3 “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

Daily D – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

1 Thessalonians 1:2, 3 “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Daily D – Colossians 2:8-10

Colossians 2:8-10 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Daily D – Philippians 2:2-5

Philippians 2:2-5 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
