Isaiah 48:17, 18
This is what the LORD says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the LORD your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.
If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your well-being like the waves of the sea.” (NIV)

The Creator of All That Is, and the Redeemer of Those Who Have Wandered Away, wants to teach us what is best for us, to direct us in the way we should go. When we follow his directions and when we take the path he lays out before us, the results are perfect peace and ultimate well-being.

It doesn’t get any better than that. Seriously, there is nothing better than that.

Our Father in Heaven is a better life planter than we will ever be.

He wrote all the instructional manuals and teaches them with authority.

What he wants for us is perfect peace. What he longs to give us is ultimate well-being.

His way is not only the right way, it’s the good way.

It’s a good day to pay attention to God and to follow His directions. Here’s how to get started.

1. Take time to pray and commit to God your way.
2. Watch for where God is at work everywhere you go.
3. Invite God into everything you do.
4. Ask God for the wisdom and insight you need for everything before you.
5. Trust God from the bottom of your heart.
6. Thank God for every good and perfect gift.
7. Enjoy the presence of God in all things at all times.

I will follow God’s instructions and live in the peace of His presence.

Our Father, you are the best teacher we will ever have. You are the best life planner we will ever learn from. You lead us into perfect peace. You direct us into ultimate well-being. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Thank you for doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Thank you for doing better for us than anything we could ever do for ourselves. Amen.

Daily D – Isaiah 61:1-3

Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.”

Daily D – Isaiah 60:19-22

Isaiah 60:19-22 The sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
Your sun will never set again,
and your moon will wane no more;
the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of sorrow will end.
Then all your people will be righteous
and they will possess the land forever.
They are the shoot I have planted,
the work of my hands,
for the display of my splendor.
The least of you will become a thousand,
the smallest a mighty nation.
I am the LORD;
in its time I will do this swiftly.”

Daily D – Proverbs 18:22

Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord.

Daily D – Isaiah 55:6-7

Isaiah 55:6, 7 “Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”

Daily D – Isaiah 49:15-16

Isaiah 49:15, 16 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are ever before me.”
