Psalm 36:10, 11
Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;
give justice to those with honest hearts.
Don’t let the proud trample me
or the wicked push me around. (NLT)

What do you want more of or less of?

This is one of my favorite coaching questions. Along with two other questions, this helps us clear the fog and lean into focused productivity.

King David tells us in this ancient song what he wants for others. Right at the top of his list are God’s unfailing love and justice. He wants everyone everywhere to experience God’s goodness and kindness as richly as he did. He wants everyone everywhere to live without fear of forced loss.

David didn’t want anyone belittled or bullied. He wanted everyone to look out not only for themselves but also for others.

Some truths are simple. Simple truths are often the most powerful.

Here’s what I want for you:

* Life wrapped in the unfailing love of God
* Justice honestly achieved and applied
* Affirmation of who you are as one created in the image of God
* Confidence in the company of all others

I will pray King David’s prayer and seek for others what he sought.

Our Father, pour out your unfailing love on those who love you. Give justice to those with honest hearts. Don’t let arrogant people trample or push around others. Amen.
