Hebrews 4:15, 16  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need. (CSB)

Hebrews 4:14-16  Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. (MSG)

Everyone struggles with something. No person is immune to problems. Some temptations are too powerful for us to overcome every time. We need help.

This confession that we need help is the beginning of wisdom. It is the beginning of hope. It is an acknowledgment of truth.

The good news is that there is Good News. Jesus has made a way for us to enter God’s presence with confident assurance that we will get what we need to overcome our problems.

Verse 16 above says, “Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.”

The Message paraphrases these words this way: “So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”

Take the mercy.

Accept the help.

There’s more mercy than all the messes of your life require. There’s more help than you could ever ask for.

You have a sure hope and a confident prayer.

I will ask God for what I need to overcome the problems I struggle with.

Our Father, I am weak, but you are strong. Thank you for mercy. Thank you for help. Thank you for your amazing grace. Here, I confess my struggles. Here, I receive your healing and help. Amen.
