Romans 5:1, 2
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God. (CSB)

By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. (MSG)

Two sentences packed with powerful words of truth and life are a little overwhelming for a Monday morning. The richness runneth over. These truths are more than our cups can contain. Even so, let’s luxuriate here for a moment.

What Jesus did for us in his perfect life, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension provides us with a clean slate before God, peace with God, access to God into a life restored and restoried by his grace, and the confidence that every day on earth is shaped by glory, and every moment beyond this life is filled only and always with glory.

Chew on that.

God did for us through Jesus more than we would have chosen to do for ourselves. The riches of his kindness and mercy overflow even our greatest expectations. That’ll cure Monday morning malaise.

Justification, peace, grace, hope, and glory are available to us in greater measure than we imagine. Stand tall. Shout your praise. Turn Moaning Monday into an Applauding Alternative.

I will praise God for all he has done for me.

Our Father, you have done for us what we cannot do for ourselves. You have made it possible for us to be set right with you. You remove our fear of you and replace it with your peace. You give us grace for everything we face. You assure us with hope which leads us into confidence for whatever you ask. Your glory surrounds us and shines through us as we express your purpose for us. How could we not sing your praise? Thank you for these truths. Amen.

Daily D – Job 8:2-7

Job 8:2-7
“How long will you go on like this?
You sound like a blustering wind.
Does God twist justice?
Does the Almighty twist what is right?
Your children must have sinned against him,
so their punishment was well deserved.
But if you pray to God
and seek the favor of the Almighty,
and if you are pure and live with integrity,
he will surely rise up and restore your happy home.
And though you started with little,
you will end with much.”

Daily D – Job 1:9-11

Job 1:9-11 Satan replied to the LORD, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

Daily D – Psalm 145:17

Psalm 145:17
The Lord is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.

Daily D – Psalm 139:1-6

Psalm 139:1-6
O LORD, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, LORD.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!

Daily D – Psalm 130

Psalm 130
From the depths of despair, O LORD,
I call for your help.
Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer.
