Esther 4:13-17  Mordecai told the messenger to reply to Esther, “Don’t think that you will escape the fate of all the Jews because you are in the king’s palace. If you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s family will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”
Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go and assemble all the Jews who can be found in Susa and fast for me. Don’t eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my female servants will also fast in the same way. After that, I will go to the king even if it is against the law. If I perish, I perish.” So Mordecai went and did everything Esther had commanded him. (CSB)

Take stock of your situation in life. What if you are where you are because God is using this moment as a turning point not only for you but for others? What if he brought you here to get you there, wherever There may be? What if he wants to use you to go the way, show the way, and lead the way into a preferred future?

God may be silent, but he is not absent.

God is always at work around us. (See John 5:17.) He is no benign watchmaker who wound up time and let it proceed to its own end. Silently, imperceptibly, and assuredly, and confidently, God is working out the details for his eternal purposes. He wants everyone to have the opportunity to know and experience him now and forever.

As a former pastor, I am duty-bound to declare the necessity for us to tell others this Good News. We as followers of Jesus are to live in the overflowing blessings of this Good News.

What difference does this Good News make in our moment in time? We have the privilege of joining God in his work. Stop right there if you think this means you need to be a pastor or missionary. Start thinking instead of how you may serve your family, friends, coworkers, and everyone you meet as a pastor and missionary in all your domains.

Live what you say you believe. Love as Jesus loved. Serve as Jesus served. Be kind to everyone you meet.

Esther was ready to perish if that was God’s purpose. We’ve all heard people say, for one reason or another, “I’d rather die.” God is inviting us into life that pours out what he pours in. He invites us to build up where others tear down. He invites us to help him turn unlovable souls into loving saints.

Today is a good day to pray, and pray like this: “Our Father, how may I join you here and now in what you are doing to fulfill your purpose in this world?”

Brace yourself. Life is about to become more meaningful.

I will join God in his work as he directs.

Our Father, how may I join you here and now in what you are doing to fulfill your purpose in this world? Amen.
