Psalm 1:3
He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams
that bears its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers. (CSB)

Psalm 1:2-3
Instead you thrill to God’s Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.
You’re a tree replanted in Eden,
bearing fresh fruit every month,
Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom. (The Message)

Deeply-rooted trees tend not to topple over even in eighty-mile-per-hour winds. Shallow-rooted trees are susceptible to leaning over and falling down when strong winds blow.

Deeply-rooted trees with ample water are healthy and fruitful. They are productive and effective. This is likewise true of people who delight themselves in God’s goodness and walk in his ways.

Replant yourself in God’s good garden. Flourish in his presence and provision. This produces freshness and fulfillment. You are at your best in God’s presence and power.

I will live a life deeply rooted in God’s presence and power.

Our Father, deliver me from the undue influence who shun your words of truth and life. Give me an ever-deeper understanding of your will and ways. Deeply root my life in your grace and goodness so that I may live the fruitful and effective life you intend. Amen.

Daily D – Ezekiel 18:30-32

Ezekiel 18:30-32 “Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!”

Daily D – Ezekiel 11:19-20

Ezekiel 11:19, 20 “And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.”

Daily D – Ezekiel 3:10-11

Ezekiel 3:10, 11 `Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself. Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”
