Proverbs 1:23
“If you respond to my warning,
then I will pour out my spirit on you
and teach you my words.” (CSB)

“Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
and make you wise.” (NLT)

“About face! I can revise your life.
Look, I’m ready to pour out my spirit on you;
I’m ready to tell you all I know.” (The Message)

One thing we don’t have nearly enough of these days is wisdom. Knowledge, facts, information, and artificial intelligence abound. Wisdom offers its assistance, but few invite it to sit at the table.

Its omission is evident.

Its inclusion is a no-brainer. It is readily available. It has been accumulated, stored up, inventoried, categorized, and made easily accessible. Daily applications are essential. Full strength is a good start.

You, being wise as you are, already know there are thirty-one chapters in the Book of Proverbs in the Bible. You know it is tucked away neatly between Psalms and Ecclesiastes. You know you can read a chapter a day and learn a thing or two every day for the rest of your life. Imagine learning something new every day that makes you wiser, stronger, healthier, and simply all-‘round better. A proverb a day will do that.

Listen to God’s invitation:

“Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
and make you wise.”

Ignorance is a choice. Wisdom is the much better option.

Let’s get wise, guys.

I will listen to God’s wise heart each day and live what he teaches me.

Our Father, I need your wisdom. I know a lot of stuff. I have a lot of stuffing in my heart and mind. I need your wisdom to make it work right and to achieve the right outcomes. Give me a teachable spirit. Instruct me. Refine what I have captured and make it useful in all I do and become. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 92:12-15

Psalm 92:12-15
The righteous thrive like a palm tree
and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the LORD,
they thrive in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
healthy and green,
to declare, “The LORD is just;
he is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in him.”

Daily D – Matthew 22:15-17

Matthew 22:15-17 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap him by what he said. So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality. Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

Daily D – Psalm 90:12

Psalm 90:12 Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.

Daily D – Matthew 17:1-9

Matthew 17:1-9 After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. He was transfigured in front of them, and his face shone like the sun; his clothes became as white as the light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him. Then Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it’s good for us to be here. If you want, I will set up three shelters here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown and were terrified.
Jesus came up, touched them, and said, “Get up; don’t be afraid.” When they looked up they saw no one except Jesus alone.
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Don’t tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

Daily D – Matthew 15:34

Matthew 15:34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked them. “Seven,” they said, “and a few small fish.”
