Deuteronomy 30:15  ”See, today I have set before you life and prosperity, death and adversity.“ (CSB)

Deuteronomy 30:19, 20  ”I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, love the Lord your God, obey him, and remain faithful to him. For he is your life, and he will prolong your days as you live in the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” (CSB)

Choose life and prosperity, or default to death and adversity.

Choosing life and prosperity is choosing to obey God. Obedience leads to blessings. This is directly contrary to what the serpent in the garden and the evil one in the wilderness said. It is directly contrary to most popular entertainment.

Good choices produce good results.

The good life flows from the good commands and instructions of our God. His love is packaged into bite-size nuggets of truth and life. There are no artificial flavors, colors, or ingredients to sap your strength or endanger your health. They harm neither you nor others. They build up and strengthen. They make you wise.

Obedience blesses everyone. My obedience blesses everyone. Your obedience blesses everyone. Our obedience builds a better world.

Good, long lives are the product of choosing what is good and true.

These are good, and true, reminders.

I will live in the blessings of God’s truth.

Our Father, your words of truth and life liberate us. They empower us. They strengthen us. They bless us and make us blessings. Thank you! Amen.

Daily D – Micah 6:8

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Daily D – Psalm 9:10

Psalm 9:10 “Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

Daily D – Jonah 1:13-16

Jonah 1:13-16 Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before. Then they cried out to the Lord, “Please, Lord, do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, Lord, have done as you pleased.” Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm. At this the men greatly feared the Lord, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows to him.

Daily D – Amos 7:12-15

Amos 7:12-15
Then Amaziah said to Amos, “Get out, you seer! Go back to the land of Judah. Earn your bread there and do your prophesying there. Don’t prophesy anymore at Bethel, because this is the king’s sanctuary and the temple of the kingdom.”

Amos answered Amaziah, “I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees. But the LORD took me from tending the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’ Now then, hear the word of the LORD.

Daily D – Amos 4:12-13

Amos 4:12, 13
“Therefore this is what I will do to you, Israel,
and because I will do this to you, Israel,
prepare to meet your God.”

He who forms the mountains,
who creates the wind,
and who reveals his thoughts to mankind,
who turns dawn to darkness,
and treads on the heights of the earth—
the Lord God Almighty is his name.
