Psalm 138:6
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me. (NLT)

Finish what you started in me, GOD.
Your love is eternal—don’t quit on me now.
(The Message)

This is a season of transitions. Loved ones have passed away. Friends are moving from one place to another, from one job to another, from full employment to retirement.

On our walk yesterday morning, we passed some homes for sale we enjoyed watching as they were built. They are nice homes in a good location. “What if?” we wondered. We wandered closer and took a photo of the real estate agent’s sign.

The homes are nicer, or at least pricier, than we anticipated. If we sell our house for maximum value and apply the proceeds to the purchase of one of these houses, we will still owe a million dollars.

This is one transition we will not make.

Life is full of change. Some of these changes are easy to anticipate. Others are unexpected. Some we plan and prepare ourselves for.

The good news is God has a purpose and a plan for our lives. As long as we live, he is working in us and working through us. He molds, shapes, restores, and renews our lives all the days of our lives.

Where is he at work in your life today?

King David in this psalm and the Apostle Paul in his most joyful letter share a confident assertion. You see David’s words above. Here are Paul’s words:

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Whatever turning point you are currently experiencing, know that our Father in Heaven has his hand on you. His purpose and his plans for you are full of goodness and grace, mercy and compassion, strength and direction. He is still working on you and me to make us what he wants us to be.

I will walk with God through all the transitions of life as God works out his purpose and plans for me.

Our Father, thank you for guiding this journey. Thank you for working out your purpose for my life. Thank you for not stopping or abandoning me. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Amen.

Daily D – Job 8:2-7

Job 8:2-7
“How long will you go on like this?
You sound like a blustering wind.
Does God twist justice?
Does the Almighty twist what is right?
Your children must have sinned against him,
so their punishment was well deserved.
But if you pray to God
and seek the favor of the Almighty,
and if you are pure and live with integrity,
he will surely rise up and restore your happy home.
And though you started with little,
you will end with much.”

Daily D – Job 1:9-11

Job 1:9-11 Satan replied to the LORD, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”

Daily D – Psalm 145:17

Psalm 145:17
The Lord is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.

Daily D – Psalm 139:1-6

Psalm 139:1-6
O LORD, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, LORD.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!

Daily D – Psalm 130

Psalm 130
From the depths of despair, O LORD,
I call for your help.
Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer.
