Psalm 103:13  The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. (NLT)

Psalm 103 is filled with precious gems. King David begins on a roll with the first five verses. He continues with picturesque words and memorable phrases. Verse 12 is a favorite of many. Verse 13 and those following are especially comforting. David’s bottom line in verse 22 is a fitting conclusion to a song now sung.

_Let all that I am praise the LORD._

This is a Sunday Psalm if ever there was one.

Verse 13 summarizes all David says about God in this psalm. Verse 22 is the only appropriate response. God is good all the time. Let us praise him with all we are.

How has God been good to you this past week? What thanksgiving will you give him today? How will you praise him for who he is?

I will praise God for demonstrating his perfect fatherhood over us, his children.

Our Father, thank you for your perfect fatherhood. Everything you do is motivated and animated by your perfect love. You seek our highest and best in all things at all times. We are never out of your care. You are merciful, kind, and compassionate. You forgive our sins and heal our diseases. You are better to us than we would be to ourselves. How could we not sing your praise? How could we not give thanks from grateful hearts? Amen.

Turn back and live!”
