Psalm 145:13
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. (NLT)

Your kingdom is a kingdom eternal; you never get voted out of office. God always does what he says, and is gracious in everything he does. (MSG)

God rules. Today and tomorrow. Now and forever. “The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation,” (Psalm 145:9, 13). God likes you even if you don’t like him back. He woos you with his perfect love. He does all the work to bring you into a relationship that outlives the ages.

Thank God God is not a politician who chooses enemies as carefully as friends to cobble together enough votes to control the reigns of power for four more years.

Thank God God is not an increasingly cranky old man or woman who wears bossy pants and has to keep pulling at them to keep them from falling down.

Thank God God is not a serial liar or exaggerator who says things to manipulate the moment.

Thank God God doesn’t require broadcast networks and cable news shows to puff his promises.

Thank God God is God, and we are not.

Thank God God is good all the time.

Thank God God’s love endures forever.

Thank God God loves everyone, even me.

Thank God God gives his gift of eternal life to all who will receive.

I will thank God that he is God and that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Our Father, we can depend on you. Your love endures forever. You are worthy of worship and praise. You seek our highest and best in all things at all times. We have never been out of your care. We have never existed where you are not. We belong to you. Thank you for these reminders before we turn on the radio, watch television, or read news items. With all the bad news in the world today, your Good News should still be the lead item day in and day out. Amen.
