1 Samuel 15:12 Early the next morning Samuel went to find Saul. Someone told him, “Saul went to the town of Carmel to set up a monument to himself; then he went on to Gilgal.” When Samuel finally found him, Saul greeted him cheerfully. “May the Lord bless you,” he said. “I have carried out the Lord’s command!” (NLT)

Dear Leader, If you erect monuments to yourself, you’re doing it wrong.

Also, if you do God’s will your way, this too is wrong.

Continuing along this same line, joyfully reporting on your half-measure obedience is also wrong, wrong, wrong.

Worse yet, those things we leave undone have a way of coming back to bite us. Compare 1 Samuel 15:1-3 with 2 Samuel 1:1-8. The unfinished business of 1 Samuel 15 led to the disaster of 2 Samuel 1.

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Proverbs 3:5, 6
The Message

I will do God’s will God’s way in God’s timing.

Our Father, your will, your way, every night, and every day. Amen.

Daily D – 2 Peter 1:5-8

2 Peter 1:5-8 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Daily D – Romans 12:18

Romans 12:18 If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Daily D – Isaiah 26:3-4

Isaiah 26:3, 4
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in you.
Trust in the LORD forever,
because in the LORD, the LORD himself,
is an everlasting rock!

Daily D – James 4:6

James 4:6 But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Daily D – James 3:18

James 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.
