Psalm 62:10  Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life. (NLT)

You can solve many problems before they begin by receiving a bit of ancient wisdom: Don’t take what isn’t yours. Don’t center your life around money.

John Wesley taught those he influenced to earn all they could, to give all they could, to save all they could. One thing to add is to make wise spending decisions. Get the best bang for the buck.

Money has a way of stimulating emotions. It can make us feel powerful or weak. It can lead to envy or pride.

Master your emotions. Master your money. Master your life.

I will follow God’s instructions and master how I think about and manage money.

Our Father, empower me to earn all that I can through honest and beneficial endeavors. Empower me to give as freely as I have received. Empower me to save wisely to take care of my family and others. Empower me to think about money in a way that leads to using it in a manner that honors you and serves others. Deliver me from envy and covetousness that makes me want to take what does not belong to me. Amen.

Psalm 13:5, 6 “But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the LORD’s praise,
for he has been good to me.”

Daily D – Habakkuk 3:17-19

Habakkuk 3:17-19 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.
