Numbers 23:11, 12  Then King Balak demanded of Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies. Instead, you have blessed them!” But Balaam replied, “I will speak only the message that the Lord puts in my mouth.” (NLT)

Proverbs 26:2  Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim. (NLT)

There is not enough money in the world to make an undeserved curse stick. It is futile to curse those God blesses. God’s blessings are always more powerful than any individual’s hard-hearted opposition.

Living a life God can and will bless is largely a matter of being where you are supposed to be and doing what you are supposed to do. Israel, in this story, was camped out near the Promised Land. All of the action with Balaam and Balak happened in the hills at certain vantage points where it was possible for them to see Israel stretched out in their temporary campground.

Israel didn’t have to do anything but exist in the space where God had led them at that moment. Nothing was required from them for God to protect them. They were where God wanted them at that moment in time.

Where are you today? Are you where you’re supposed to be? Are you doing what you know to do? Simple obedience to God’s clear direction is accompanied by God’s present provision. God provides and protects us in ways we never realize.

What is your best next step today? Trust God to take care of you as you step into his path for you today.

I will trust God to take care of me as I step into the path he has laid out for me today.

Our Father, thank you for watching over us. Thank you for taking care of us. Lead us in the right way today. Empower us to participate in your plans and purpose. May we live the kinds of lives you can bless and that make us a blessing to others. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 92:12-15

Psalm 92:12-15
The righteous thrive like a palm tree
and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the LORD,
they thrive in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
healthy and green,
to declare, “The LORD is just;
he is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in him.”

Daily D – Matthew 22:15-17

Matthew 22:15-17 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap him by what he said. So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality. Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

Daily D – Psalm 90:12

Psalm 90:12 Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.

Daily D – Matthew 17:1-9

Matthew 17:1-9 After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. He was transfigured in front of them, and his face shone like the sun; his clothes became as white as the light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him. Then Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it’s good for us to be here. If you want, I will set up three shelters here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown and were terrified.
Jesus came up, touched them, and said, “Get up; don’t be afraid.” When they looked up they saw no one except Jesus alone.
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Don’t tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

Daily D – Matthew 15:34

Matthew 15:34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked them. “Seven,” they said, “and a few small fish.”
