Exodus 12:40, 41  The people of Israel had lived in Egypt for 430 years. In fact, it was on the last day of the 430th year that all the Lord’s forces left the land. (NLT)

God does the right thing for the right reason at the right time. He is never early; never late. This is how to live an unhurried life. This is how to accomplish everything you need to do every day.

This has been Sick Week for my bride and me. She got the bug first and lovingly passed it along to me. Dave Barry wrote years ago that nothing brings a family together like the flu.

Our bug has not been that serious. There have been benefits. I have lost weight. This is a byproduct of not being able to eat much of anything. Yesterday’s breakfast was two slices of cinnamon raisin bread and a banana. I enjoyed a cup of yogurt for lunch.

We felt so much better last night that we ordered enchiladas and tacos from one of our favorite restaurants. Halfway through the enchiladas, I realized I was not quite well enough to eat enchiladas.

I am awaiting God’s perfect timing for this bug to run its course. One hour and nine minutes from now would be pretty good timing for me. If that’s not God’s perfect timing, I will keep on waiting, eating cinnamon raisin bread, bananas, and yogurt. I will keep on working through the continuing education courses I need for my professional coaching certification.

I might even work in a nap later.

I will trust God’s perfect timing with everything in my life, including this virus.

Our Father, I want to walk so closely with you that I fairly well exist in your perfect timing in all things. Drag me, push me, retrieve me, redirect me as often as necessary. You are my Shepherd. I belong to you. Amen.

Daily D – 1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”

Daily D – 2 Thessalonians 1:3

2 Thessalonians 1:3 “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

Daily D – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

1 Thessalonians 1:2, 3 “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Daily D – Colossians 2:8-10

Colossians 2:8-10 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Daily D – Philippians 2:2-5

Philippians 2:2-5 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
