Philippians 4:5
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. (NIV)

Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. (CSB)

Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. (NLT)

Gentleness is a superpower. Strength disciplined and under control declares testimony to a greater source and a higher purpose. May your gentleness be evident to all.

May your gentleness declare the empowering grace of Jesus for selfless service. May your gentleness declare the empowering grace of Jesus for self-discipline and self-control. Self-discipline leads you to take the right lead measures. Self-control leads you to flee from all temptation.

Gentleness is a gift of God’s grace to our world. Gentle men and gentle women extend the peace of God into homes and workplaces, fields of play and fields of contest.

Gentleness soothes. Gentleness softens. Gentleness serves.

How do people know Jesus is real and Jesus is near? Gentleness tames wild minds and unsettled hearts. Gentleness makes us considerate. Gentleness makes us helpful.

Wherever you go today, whatever you do, look for gentleness. Thank God for it when you see it. Extend it every chance you get. Let it broaden your every consideration. Let it deepen your heart. Let it soften your speech, guide your hands, and direct your feet. Let it open your ears to hear more than is spoken.

Gentleness is a superpower, a superpower uncomfortable with calling attention to itself. Gentleness shifts our focus to the needs of others. (See Philippians 2:1-5 for what it looks like and how it behaves.)

I will become a gentle man.

Our Father, may your gentleness be evident to everyone we meet. Bless with an ever-increasing measure of this grace. Amen.

Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!”
