Daily D – Ezekiel 17:24
Ezekiel 17:24 All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. “ ‘I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.’ ” (NIV)

God can do more with your worn-out, practically spent life than you can with fifty years of vigorous engagement. His declaration is far more powerful than your machination.
“Words create worlds,” Rabbi Joshua Abraham Heschel said. The fuller quote as recalled by his daughter says, “‘Words,’ he often wrote, ‘are themselves sacred, God’s tool for creating the universe, and our tools for bringing holiness — or evil — into the world.’”
We live in an increasingly dark and tasteless world. Dangerous ideas are platformed while millennia of truth are ignored and mocked. Is there any hope for this age? When big-shot Christian leaders fail and fall week by week, is there any possibility of revival or awakening?
Listen to what God says. “I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. ‘I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.’”
God brings renewal to individuals.
God brings revival to his church.
God brings awakening to people groups and nations.
Clever campaigns and winsome slogans are never enough to change hearts, minds, lives, and generations.
Trust God to do what only he can do. Yield your heart and mind and abilities to him. Invite him to use you as salt and light. Join God in his work of renovation and restoration.

Our Father, use me in whatever manner you see fit to be salt and light in this dark and tasteless world. Place your thoughts in my mind and your words in my mouth. Take these hands and use them to serve with grace and kindness. Lead me where you want me to go. Empower me to do what you want me to do. Amen.
