Matthew 5:3  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Today is a good day to confess our spiritual poverty.

Today is a good day to grieve the death of innocents and wounds that will never go away.

Today is a day to pray, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” (Matthew 6:10).

Today is a day to pray, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,” (Matthew 6:13).

Today is a good day to listen carefully to what God says to us in Isaiah 66:2
:

“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in spirit,
and who tremble at my word.

Our world is a mess. Let us join God in cleaning it up.

I will confess my brokenness and poverty of spirit.

Our Father, I agree with you. I am broken and in need of repair. Only your grace is enough to fix me. I agree with you. This world is broken and in need of repair. Take me and use me in whatever manner you see fit to extend your kingdom rule and reign so that innocents are not murdered and survivors do not have to live with wounds that never heal. Deliver us from evil. Amen.
