“Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭50:14-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Spread for me a banquet of praise,
serve High God a feast of kept promises,
And call for help when you’re in trouble—
I’ll help you, and you’ll honor me.

The Message

What does God want most from you? This psalm tells us which two items top his list. They are gratitude and trust. Our Father in heaven is the giver of all good things (James 1:17). Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

We please God and honor him when we trust him for whatever we need when we need it.

Some people allow pride to rob them of God’s blessings. They choose not to pray when they have needs or problems. We have an open invitation from our Father in heaven who loves us with an everlasting love to come into his presence with our needs. This honors him. This is the pathway to his provision.

What problems or uncomfortable issues do you have before you today? God is waiting and listening and ready to move into action on your behalf. Praise is the Username. Thanksgiving is the password. Prayer is the network. Deliverance is the result.

Our trust in action honors God and blesses us.

This is not complicated. It is relational glue. It is the essence of a life of faith.

Praise God for who he is.
Thank him for what he has done.
Lift your problems in prayer to our Father in heaven.

I will relate to God with gratitude and trust.

Our Father, you are the Giver of All Good Things. You invite us into an ever-deeper and loving relationship. You ask us to bring our troubles to you. This is not a bother or burden to you. Instead, it is a demonstration of trust on our part. It leads to our praise and thanksgiving because you answer our prayers better than we pray them. You are better to us than we would be to ourselves. Teach us more and more how to live with gratitude and trust. Amen.

Daily D – Genesis 4:6-7

Genesis 4:6, 7 “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”

Daily D – Genesis 2:7

Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

Daily D – Mark 6:30-32

Mark 6:30-32 The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught. Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.

Daily D – Mark 9:30-31

Mark 9:30, 31 Leaving that region, they traveled through Galilee. Jesus didn’t want anyone to know he was there, for he wanted to spend more time with his disciples and teach them. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.”

Daily D – John 17:4

John 17:4 “I have glorified you on the earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”
