Daily D – Isaiah 54:10

Isaiah 54:10 “Though the mountains move and the hills shake, my love will not be removed from you and my covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says your compassionate LORD. (CSB)

“For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces,
My love won’t walk away from you,
My covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.”
The GOD who has compassion on you says so.

If there is one thing that has been settled for all time, it is God’s love for people. This includes all people everywhere. He wants every person to know and experience his goodness, his grace, and his mercy. He wants everyone to be saved. He does not want any person to perish.

God’s settled disposition toward you and me is love. Nothing will change his mind. It is his nature. It is why the Apostle John could write, “God is love,” (1 John 4:8, 16). God always and forever seeks his highest and best for each of us. His worst plan for us is better than our best plan for ourselves.

You may feel a rupture in some part of your world today or tomorrow. The one thing you can confidently depend on is that God’s love for you endures forever.

What is shaking you?

God is better, faster, stronger than whatever it is. He will not abandon you in the shaking, the mountain-moving problem you are facing. Your compassionate God is with you and holds you. Everything may feel like it is falling apart. God will give you peace. God will make all things fall together.

When the shaking starts, turn to your unshakable God.

When the mountains move, know the peace of God.

When you are deeply wounded, receive the compassionate care of your God.

I will live securely in our compassionate God’s embrace.

Our Father, this is a shaky world. These are shaky times. We need your stability. We need your love. We need you. Give us a place to stand as you put our lives together. Teach us as often as is necessary that you are a firm foundation. Amen.
