Daily D – Psalm 84:5

Happy are the people whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
PSALM 84:5 (CSB)

—————————————————————————

And how blessed all those in whom you live,
Whose lives become roads you travel.

(The Message)

Maybe it has taken you a while to figure this out, but God travels this world in the hearts of people like you and me. When we invite him to take up residence in our lives through repentance and faith, he accompanies us wherever we go, whatever we do.

We are pilgrims who walk with God in his strength.

A WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) bracelet, or the interrogative it represents, is not the best question. It’s a good question, but Jesus never drove in our traffic. Jesus never sat in our school board meetings discussing CRT and face masks. What would Jesus do in such situations?

A better question is, “What would Jesus do if he were me?” How can Jesus bring maximum expression of himself to this world? He does it through us. Listen to John 14:12:

Truly I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. Moving from one Jesus to two billion Jesus followers and counting is evidence that maximum expression has been happening for two millennia and is happening still.

We are ambassadors who live empowered by God to deliver hope and joy.

We have the privilege of representing Jesus wherever we go, whatever we do. We get to bring his mercy and grace, his love and truth to everyone we meet.

Jesus travels this world these days in the hearts of his people. Where will you go today? What will he do through you? How will you allow him to express himself in your conversations and decisions? How will you join him in his work of transformation?

If this feels a bit uncomfortable to embrace fully, go back to the first word in this Bible verse. Happy are those whose strength comes from God. Happy are those who are consciously aware of God’s presence wherever they go, whatever they do.

The happiness journey is walking with Jesus, seeing what he sees and doing what he does.

—————————————————————————

I will live a happy life on this long walk with Jesus.

—————————————————————————

Our Father, happiness is your idea. It is your intention. It is evidence of your grace. Thank you for strength to walk through this life seeing what you see and doing what you do. Please take my life and express yourself fully so that billions more may come to know your grace, truth, and happiness. Amen.

Daily D – Ezekiel 18:30-32

Ezekiel 18:30-32 “Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!”

Daily D – Ezekiel 11:19-20

Ezekiel 11:19, 20 “And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.”

Daily D – Ezekiel 3:10-11

Ezekiel 3:10, 11 `Then he added, “Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself. Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”
