Micah 7:18-20
Where is another God like you,
who pardons the guilt of the remnant,
overlooking the sins of his special people?
You will not stay angry with your people forever,
because you delight in showing unfailing love.
Once again you will have compassion on us.
You will trample our sins under your feet
and throw them into the depths of the ocean!
You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love
as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago. (NLT)

God is more interested in saving, restoring, and healing than we are in receiving these gifts of his grace, mercy, and unfailing love.

Another way of saying this is we live about as well as we want.

When we come to understand how God’s expectations lead to our best possible lives, everything changes.

It really is possible to get out of our own way.

It really is possible to live with purpose.

It really is possible to experience peace.

God delights in demonstrating his unfailing love. Praise becomes our morning routine when we discover this truth. Thanksgiving becomes our settled disposition. Expectancy shifts our focus from the way things are to the way things can be

This is good news for a Monday. What a great start to the week!

Our Father, it is almost a cliche but also an eternal truth: You are better to us than we would be to ourselves. Teach us today how to live up and into the good life you desire for each of us. Amen.

Acts 9:19-22 And after taking some food, he regained his strength. Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some time. Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues: “He is the Son of God.”
All who heard him were astounded and said, “Isn’t this the man in Jerusalem who was causing havoc for those who called on this name and came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”
But Saul grew stronger and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.
