Psalm 19:7, 8
The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. (NLT)

The directions of GOD are plain
and easy on the eyes. (MSG)

A quick trip to the airport and a flight to see our curly-haired granddaughter is an hour away. A notification from the airline says our plane left its location a few minutes early on its way here.

We need to dress, finish packing, load the car, hit the road, grab a parking shuttle, and zip through security. A short hop toward the east will follow. Our son will pick us up at the airport and our granddaughter has promised to give her grandmother a huge hug.

Crosby Stills and Nash sang a short song that became a hit back in the ‘70s. It was called, _Just A Song Before I Go_. Also before I go, I read God’s words carefully arranged for this morning and found in Psalm 19. The last line of verse 8 says,

The commands of the LORD are clear,
giving insight for living.

The Message paraphrase puts it this way:

The directions of GOD are plain
and easy on the eyes.

We need a helping handful of God’s instructions day by day. So before my buddy and I wing away, it’s good to pause for insights for living today.

What is God saying to you?

I will seek God’s insights for living day by day.

Our Father, awaken me day by day with an expectation of new learning, growth, and development. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 92:12-15

Psalm 92:12-15
The righteous thrive like a palm tree
and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the LORD,
they thrive in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
healthy and green,
to declare, “The LORD is just;
he is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in him.”

Daily D – Matthew 22:15-17

Matthew 22:15-17 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap him by what he said. So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality. Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

Daily D – Psalm 90:12

Psalm 90:12 Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.

Daily D – Matthew 17:1-9

Matthew 17:1-9 After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. He was transfigured in front of them, and his face shone like the sun; his clothes became as white as the light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him. Then Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it’s good for us to be here. If you want, I will set up three shelters here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown and were terrified.
Jesus came up, touched them, and said, “Get up; don’t be afraid.” When they looked up they saw no one except Jesus alone.
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Don’t tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

Daily D – Matthew 15:34

Matthew 15:34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked them. “Seven,” they said, “and a few small fish.”
