1 Chronicles 11:2 In the past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who really led the forces of Israel. And the Lord your God told you, ‘You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be the leader of my people Israel.’” (NLT)

There are those who lead like kings even though they do not bear the title. There are leaders others look to even when positions of authority and responsibility are withheld from them. Don’t wait for a job description and commensurate pay to lead. Lead yourself, teams, and organizations like David: “He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands,” (Psalms‬ ‭78‬:‭72‬ ‭NLT‬‬).

David Before He Was King led with these characteristics:
* He shared the leadership load with capable companions.
* He used all the brains he had and all he could borrow.
* He developed his skills continually.
* He kept his heart pure and attuned to God’s.

Before we can lead others and organizations, we have to lead ourselves well. Self-leadership involves taking the right lead measures. It requires self-discipline to get started and to keep going. It demands self-control to avoid distractions and to flee temptation.

What are the leadership deficits you need to strengthen to move from where you are to where you want to be?
* How well do you cooperate and collaborate?
* What is your growth plan?
* How are you honing your skills?
* How are you developing an increasing capacity for knowing God and making him known?

If there is one keystone habit you could develop over the next ninety days to enrich your leadership acumen and execution, what is it? What will it make possible? When will you start? Who can help you?

Leadership is a lifestyle before it is a title.

Biblical leadership is a mindset and a skillset guided by a heart set on honoring God and serving others.

I will grow in leadership capacity by devoting my heart to God, disciplining my mind with new understanding, and sharpening my skills with evaluated practice.

Our Father, empower me to lead myself well so that I may lead others with a pure heart and skillful hands. Amen.

That’s one consolation you can give me.
Bear with me, and let me speak.
After I have spoken, you may resume mocking me.”

Daily D – Job 17:10-12

Job 17:10-12
“As for all of you, come back with a better argument,
though I still won’t find a wise man among you.
My days are over.
My hopes have disappeared.
My heart’s desires are broken.
These men say that night is day;
they claim that the darkness is light.”

Daily D – Psalm 74:16-17

Psalm 74:16, 17
Both day and night belong to you;
you made the starlight and the sun.
You set the boundaries of the earth,
and you made both summer and winter.

Daily D – Job 11:6

Job 11:6 “If only he would tell you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom is not a simple matter. Listen! God is doubtless punishing you far less than you deserve!”
